Gordon Brothers Group Plays a Key Role in Helping The Elton John Aids Foundation Raise $730,000.

Press Release
Last month at Rockefeller Center, Gordon Brothers Group successfully managed the public sale of personal merchandise from the wardrobes of Sir Elton John and David Furnish. The five-day benefit event, deemed Elton’s Closet, raised $730,000–all of which will be used to support HIV/AIDS prevention and service programs.

Brought in by Saks Fifth Avenue, a co-sponsor of the event and valued client, Gordon Brothers Group conducted and managed the 10,000-item sale amid a flurry of thousands of eager consumers and investors looking to own a piece of popular culture.

“Sak’s Fifth Avenue asked for our help because we have managed these types of offsite events in the past,” said Gary Kulp, Principal and Managing Director, Gordon Brothers Group. “Our 100-plus-year history gives us the experience and expertise required to effectively control inventory flow in such an exciting, fast-paced environment.”

In addition to managing the sale, Gordon Brothers Group also set the pricing for all of the merchandise, which included many one-of-a-kind pieces.
