Gordon Brothers 13th Annual Global Give Back Day

Commitment to Community

Gordon Brothers prides itself on a long-standing commitment to the community, a commitment shared by our employees all around the world. In keeping with that commitment, Gordon Brothers employees participated in the 13th annual Global Give Back Day on September 5, 2019. This year employees from the Gordon Brothers’ Boston, Massachusetts office volunteered at the Pine Street Inn. Pine Street Inn partners with homeless individuals to help them move from streets and shelters to a home and assists formerly homeless with retaining sufficient housing. Pine Street also provides outreach, emergency services, job training, and employment connections for its guests and those still homeless. Gordon Brothers employees helped cut and prepare over 6,000 pounds of vegetables for Pine Street’s kitchen, which helped to provide over 2,700 meals.

Employees at Gordon Brothers’ Mequon, Wisconsin office volunteered at Next Door Milwaukee and Robyn’s Nest-Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Next Door Milwaukee is a charity devoted to improving child literacy and school readiness for children ages zero to five in Milwaukee’s central city. Mequon employees read with preschool children during their library time and cleaned and sorted donated books for children to take home. The Mequon office also held a children’s book drive for Next Door’s Books for Kids program.

Robyn’s Nest-Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin houses new and gently used clothing, hygiene products, infant items, toys, books, and other household goods, and distributes them free of charge to families within its foster care system and families with unmet needs throughout the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Gordon Brothers employees held a backpack and school supplies drive for Robyn’s Nest, creating packages from the donations, to be distributed to children and their families.
